  • Q: What is IVI-360™?

    A: IVI-360™ (Intelligent Vision Inspection 360) is an AI-equipped visual inspection system developed for aluminum die-cast products. It combines 360-degree full-surround imaging, multi-illumination, and AI defect detection to identify casting imperfections such as flow lines, sink marks, and impact marks.

  • Q: What kinds of defects can it detect?

    A: It supports detection of the following types of surface defects: for example on cast material – flow lines, sink marks, impact marks, etc. In the future, inspection targets will not only include aluminum die-cast but also gravity die-casting (GDC) and low-pressure die-casting (LPDC).

  • Q: How is it different from other inspection systems?

    A: Unlike systems that use mechanisms to invert the product, it is capable of inspecting the product from all 360 degrees full-surround without flipping the workpiece.

  • Q: What does the operator do?

    A: The operator places the product on the inspection aid jig and presses the start button. The judgment result is displayed via a signal light, and marking for OK vs NG is performed automatically.

  • Q: What is the inspection accuracy (detection rate)?

    A: The inspection accuracy (detection rate) varies depending on the type of defect and imaging conditions. Please contact us for details.

  • Q: How long does the inspection take?

    A: Inspection takes approximately 0.25–0.3 seconds per inspection point. The layout is designed to minimise robot bending and minimise motion time.

  • Q: Is there an upper limit on size/weight of the inspection target?

    A: For die-casting machine sizes up to the equivalent of 800 tons. Approximate target size: up to about 300 mm × 300 mm × 100 mm. Weight guideline: up to about 10 kg.
